Al-Ahsa, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia

Buhaligha Mosque

Described as the largest Shia mosque in Al-Ahsa at the time. Newly opened in early 2012, it was ordered closed by Saudi security authorities that same year at the start of Muharram, without a clear public explanation — part of a wider pattern documented around that period of closures affecting Shia mosques, religious schools, and community centers in Al-Ahsa. Current operating status is unconfirmed.
