Syed Ali Raza Rizvi

Allama Syed Ali Raza Rizvi (b. May 4, 1976, Lahore) is a Pakistani-British Twelver Shia scholar and orator based in London. His family relocated to Birmingham, England while he was still young, and he was raised and began his religious studies there before continuing at the Qom Seminary in Iran, where he studied for several years and graduated in 1998 with dual Masters degrees in Islamic Studies and Arabic.

He currently serves as President of Majlis e Ulama e Shia (Europe), the umbrella body for Shia scholars across the UK and Europe, and has lectured in more than 40 countries over the course of his career. He has written and translated several English-language works, including a translation of Shaykh Saduq's Kitab al-Tawhid (The Book of Divine Unity), alongside Introduction to Islam and Islamic Laws.

He is a frequent speaker at large multi-day gatherings, and in recent years has addressed the Ayyam-e-Fatimiya majalis at Nishtar Park in Karachi, drawing large crowds during the mourning days marking the martyrdom of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra (AS).
