Syed Abutalib Tabatabai

Maulana Syed Abutalib Tabatabai is a Karachi-based Twelver Shia scholar and orator known for both his regular religious instruction and his Majalis-e-Aza. He conducts ongoing dars (lesson series) on classical texts, including a verse-by-verse study of Sahifa-e-Sajjadiya (the collection of supplications attributed to the fourth Imam, Ali ibn al-Husayn) and a long-running series working through Usool-e-Kafi, one of the foundational hadith collections of Twelver Shia Islam.

He is particularly known for addressing special multi-day series of majalis known as the Khamsa Majalis-e-Aza (a five-majlis series), and regularly speaks at gatherings across Karachi, including during Ayyam-e-Fatimiya and at weekly Thursday-night and Esaal-e-Sawab majalis. His lectures are recorded and shared by several independent community channels covering Karachi's majlis circuit, reflecting his active and ongoing role in the city's religious life.
