Imamzadeh Hamzah, Tabriz

Hamzah ibn Musa al-Kazim

Located in the Sheshghelan suburb of Tabriz, this imamzadeh and mosque complex holds the grave of Sayyid Hamzah, son of the 7th Imam, Musa al-Kazim. The shrine dates to the 14th century with later Safavid and Qajar-era additions, and sits near the city's well-known Maqbaratoshoara poets' mausoleum. It is distinct from the two shrines attributed to Hamza al-Gharbi and Hamza al-Sharqi in Diwaniyah, Iraq, and from the separate Imamzadeh Hamzeh in Kashmar — all three are unrelated local figures sharing the same name.
