Awn ibn Abdullah ibn Ja'far ibn Mar'i
Often misattributed to Awn ibn Abdullah ibn Ja'far al-Tayyar, the son of Zaynab martyred at Karbala; he is buried in the Imam Husayn shrine.
Shrine in the small town of Awn, about 11 km from Karbala on the old Karbala–Baghdad road, and a regular stop for pilgrims to Karbala. Local tradition once linked it to Awn ibn Abdullah ibn Ja'far al-Tayyar, the Karbala martyr, but he is buried with the martyrs in the shrine of Imam Husayn; Shia genealogists identify the man buried here as Awn ibn Abdullah ibn Ja'far ibn Mar'i, a descendant of Imam al-Hasan from the 4th century AH.
